Sean Justin Penn (born August 17, 1960) is an American film actor, filmmaker, liberal political activist and member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2004. He won an Academy Award for Best Actor and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his role in Mystic River.
