In this Monday, Jan. 25,  2010 photo, bullet and shrapnel holes located on the walls of the Pacific Air Forces Headquarters Building at Hickam Air Force Base are seen in Honolulu. These are the many reminders from the Dec. 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Naval Station Pearl Harbor and Hickam Air Force Base. Because of it's historical significants both Hickam Air Force Base and Naval Station Pearl Harbor will be working together to preserve these sites as the two military bases merge operations.

The Japanese attack happened Dec. 7, 1941. The USS Arizona is the final resting place for 1177 crew members who lost their lives in the attack. Hickam Air Force Base which is located next to Naval Station Pearl Harbor will be merged together as a way to streamline cost for both military installations.
